MDMA causes the user to have increased empathy, happiness and increased sensations of time and sexuality. It is mostly taken in a pill form which takes 30 min – 1 hr to feel the effects, or snorted where the effects are felt between 5- 10 minutes. There are a select few who smoke MDMA as well. One pill of MDMA can have about 60 – 120 milligrams of the drug, this however would not be pure MDMA, rather it would be cut with other chemicals. While the effects on MDMA may be euphoric there are also adverse effects which include: addiction, memory loss, paranoia, difficulty sleeping, teeth grinding, blurred vision, sweating and a rapid heartbeat. Excessive use of this drug can cause death because of an increased body temperature and dehydration.
